The new body of work further explores her favourite subject water; her approach to this subject is varied and often experimental. She has always felt drawn to water and has spent many years experimenting and observing closely its many varied forms it adopts in different circumstances. Introducing colour during the process of capturing her findings has allowed Elizabeth James to study and record colour in motion, transforming shapes & colours as it freely takes its own direction and tones. The colours, carrying little or no commitment and the ebb and flow of the water takes on the body of life taking us out of our sphere of influence and bringing others in to it.
