About
Carnal love letters to the universe.
Debaucherous visions.
Hypnotic diasporic enamoratas.

Kenna Shapiro uses abstract forms to articulate the human experience when words do not suffice. To Shapiro, the sensuality of the medium is just as important as the image itself. In pursuit of authenticity and sustainability, works are created with salvaged materials. Shapiro’s corporeal conceptions are an affirmation of humanity, and an acknowledgment that only through art are we able to find true resolution.

Shapiro received her bachelor’s degree in art with a concentration in art history, but her inspiration comes from her travels to over a dozen nations across the globe which taught her that art is a universal language. Shapiro works every day in her San Francisco studio. Her work has been featured on PBS television twice and exhibited throughout the U.S. Much of her past work resides in private collections throughout North America and Europe.
